GOD THE GREAT DESIGNER IN CREATION

The seal of the Designer is stamped upon all His created works, and it is a seal that cannot be obliterated. Design in creation is indelible like the watermark in paper. The Bible infers that the hand of the Designer is to be seen in all His works. "He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He" (Deut. 32:4). "Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, and meted out heaven with a span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance" (Is. 40:12)? According to the latter verse, the waters, the heaven above, and the dust of the earth (matter, or the chemical elements) are measured. God has infinitely measured all the works of His hands. Number is the underlying principle of nature. There are no created works without the numbers inherent in them. God has measured the waters. The Word of God was not given to teach science primarily, but some of its statements anticipate scientific discoveries, and wherever Bible statements touch upon science they are accurate. Every drop of water in the universe is a mathematical equation. Science tells us that water is the combination of two gases, hydrogen and oxygen. Two parts of hydrogen to one of oxygen meet to form water. It is measured. It is not an accident. It does not just happen so. Our universe is an orderly universe, and every drop of water reveals the hand of the Designer.

LETTER FROM THE ISF ASSISTANT

Dear International Friend,

Our warm summer greetings to you no matter where you are living. Some have returned home or moved to new places to live and to experience a different way of life. It would be an interesting thing to spend time living in each of the fifty states of the United States. Even though you might think things are pretty much the same all over the USA, there are still many things that make each state a unique place to call home. By the time you receive this letter summer will have officially begun and one half of the year 2002 will be history. Also we would have already celebrated Fourth of July, which is very special to all Americans.

Did you know that the first Model-T cars, introduced by Henry Ford in 1908, sold for $850? The price actually decreased to $290 in 1923. Salt is the most widely used seasoning in the world. The Brooklyn Bridge in New York City was the first bridge to use steel cables. The Statue of Liberty's index finger is 8 ft. long and has a fingernail 13 by 10 inches. The word "taxi" is spelled the same in English, German, French, Swedish, and Portuguese.

Our July ISF Gathering will be on Friday, July 19th, 7:30 PM in the beautiful Ballroom of the William Pitt Union. The William Pitt Union is located in Oakland on the corner of Bigelow and 5th. Avenue. To get to the Ballroom, use the entrance on 5th. Avenue and then follow the signs.

We were so encouraged to see so many new ones come to our last gathering. It was a joy to see 120 of our dear International friends from 12 different countries. There were 17 who attended for the first time. So please continue to invite your friends to these wonderful monthly times we have together. As usual there will also be a full course dinner, good music, an excellent lecture, special children's activities in the Kurtzman Room, but especially good International fellowship. It's all free, so do plan to come and invite your friends.

Hope to see you on July 19th!

EIGHT MISTAKES TO AVOID

  1. Remorse over yesterday's failure.
  2. Anxiety over today's problems.
  3. Worry over tomorrow's uncertainty.
  4. Procrastination with one's present duty.
  5. Resentment of another's success.
  6. Criticism of a neighbor's imperfections.
  7. Impatience with youth's faults.
  8. Unbelief in God's providence.

ONE-SENTENCE SERMONS

  • A lot of kneeling will keep you in good standing.
  • Don't put a question mark where God put a period.
  • Exercise daily. Walk with the Lord!
  • Give God what's right, not what's left!
  • He who angers you, controls you!
  • He who is good at making excuses is seldom good for anything else.
  • He who kneels before God can stand before anyone!
  • Kindness is difficult to give away because it keeps coming back.
  • Most people want to serve God, but only in an advisory capacity.
  • Nothing ruins the truth like stretching it.
  • "Pray" is a four letter word that you can say anywhere.
  • Prayer - Don't give God instructions - just report for duty!
  • The Will of God will never take you to where the Grace of God will not protect you.
  • Watch your step carefully! Everyone else does!
  • We don't change the message; the message changes us.
  • We set the sail; God makes the wind.

PROFOUND QUESTIONS

"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? "                                                       (Matt. 16:28)
