Dear International Friend,
Greetings to you from International Student Fellowship. We hope that when you receive this Newsletter you will be enjoying the summer season. For a while we endured the overabundance of rain and cooler temperatures. Along the east coast unusual amounts of rain fell in short periods of time. After the sky was overcast for many days it was a welcome sight to see the sun come through the clouds. What a contrast this is to our daily living. Sometimes it seems that the dark clouds of problems and discouragements in our lives will never end. That is not the time to give up but to remember that just as the sun is still shining behind the clouds, God's love and peace can be found behind the uncertain times in our lives. We wish every father a Happy Father's Day. This special day is celebrated on June 18th. We hope to especially honor fathers at our upcoming June 9 th ISF Gathering.

History of Father's Day:
The first Father's Day was observed on June 19, 1910 in Spokane , Washington . In 1924 President Calvin Coolidge supported the idea of a national Father's Day. In 1966 President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation declaring the third Sunday of June as Father's Day.
When I was...
4 years old: My daddy can do anything.
5 years old: My daddy knows a whole lot.
6 years old: My dad is smarter than your dad.
8 years old: My dad doesn't know exactly everything.
9 years old: In the olden days, when my dad grew up, things were sure different.
10 years old: Oh, well, naturally, Dad doesn't know anything about that. He is too old to remember his childhood.
14 years old: Don't pay any attention to my dad. He is so old-fashioned.
21 years old: Dad, he's hopelessly out of date.
25 years old: Dad knows about it, but then he should, because he has been around so long.
30 years old: Maybe we should ask Dad what he thinks. After all, he's had a lot of experience.
35 years old: I'm not doing a single thing until I talk to Dad.
40 years old: I wonder how Dad would have handled it. He was so wise.
50 years old: I'd give anything if Dad were here now so I could talk this over with him. Too bad I didn't appreciate how smart he was. I could have learned a lot from him.

A PRAYER
Dear Lord, being a father isn't easy.
Sometimes, I am worried; sometimes I am weary; and sometimes I become discouraged.
When I am worried, give me faith.
When my responsibilities seem overwhelming,
Give me strength and perspective.
