DO NOT LET HURTS HURT YOU

Rejections, defeats, and failures that all of us have experienced can create enough negative feelings to destroy us. Be careful! Often the most painful wounds are not the scars that are outwardly seen, but the hidden wounds deep in the heart. Being hidden, they are often the most dangerous.

Setbacks in our lives can take the joy out of living. Our faith is weakened and if we collect enough hurts it will stop us from wanting to go forward. Even success can make you the target of criticism. Don't let the hurts hurt you!

Along the shoreline in California it is a common sight to see whales stopping alongside rocks to scrape off barnacles as they migrate from Alaska to Mexico . In our lifetime we also will pick up a collection of personal hurts that will attach themselves like parasites sapping the life out of us. They must be scrapped off. Faith is the only thing that can heal the hurts. It can be painful. It hurts! The scars may remain but your life can be put back together. A strong belief in God is what will make the difference.

DON'T GIVE UP!!

“When the morning's freshness has been replaced by the weariness of midday, when the leg muscles quiver under the strain, the climb seems endless, and suddenly nothing will go quite as you wish - it is then that you must not hesitate.”
                                                                                                              --Dag Hammarskjold

George Muller, a great man of faith, once said,

“God delights to increase the faith of His children. We ought, instead of wanting no trials before victory, no exercise for patience, to be willing to take them from God's hand as a means, I say - and say it deliberately - trials, obstacles, difficulties, and sometimes defeats, are the very food of faith.”

Faith and Doubt

Doubt sees the obstacles. Faith sees the way!

Doubt sees the darkest night. Faith sees the day!

Doubt dreads to take a step. Faith soars on high!

Doubt questions, “Who believes?” Faith answers, “I!”

Believing Without Seeing

I believe in the sun even if it is not shining!

I believe in God even if He is silent.

I believe in His love even if it is hidden.

I believe in the light, for Christ is the light in the darkness;

I believe in God, for He spoke in Christ and is not Silent;

I believe in love, for love appeared on the cross.

LETTER FROM THE ISF ASSISTANTS
Dear International Friend,

Our warm and cordial greetings to you our International Friends.

It is hard to believe that the summer is almost over. As you look back on these summer months you may be remembering the hot days along with some days of cooler temperatures. There has been a real variety of weather this past summer but now we look forward to fall and the resuming of classes for many students. We hope this will be a good and exciting academic year for each of those who will be returning back to the classroom. No matter what season of the year, a good word of advice is to live one day at a time. How easy it is to worry about the future. There is never a certainty of another tomorrow. It is better to consider the past with its lessons you have learned and then make the necessary changes and adjustments in your life to make each new day one you will not regret. We can live a full and productive life not in our own strength and ability but with a humble dependence and faith in God to be our Teacher and Helper day by day.
                                                                                                  --Terry & Pam Tiberio, ISF Assistants
