THE BIBLE – GOD’S BOOK
|
Sir Isaac Newton was one of the world’s greatest scientists. With his mother widowed twice, he was raised by his grandmother before being sent off to grammar school, and later Cambridge. He discovered the principles of calculus, the laws of gravity, and built the first reflecting telescope. Using a prism, Newton demonstrated how a beam of sunlight contained all of the colors of the rainbow. In 1704, Sir Isaac Newton wrote in his work entitled “Optics”- “God in the beginning formed matter.” Regarding the Bible, he wrote: “The system of revealed truth which this Book contains is like that of the universe, concealed from common observation, yet the labors of the centuries have established its divine origin.”
FOOD FOR THOUGHT!
Grass that is here today and gone tomorrow does not require much time to mature. A big oak tree that lasts for generations requires much more time to grow and mature. God is concerned about your life through eternity. Allow Him to take all the time He needs to shape you for His purposes. Larger assignments will require longer periods of preparation.
GOD’S VOICE
One time a man was trying to read the newspaper without being disturbed, but his little girl kept bothering him. He finally got some scissors and cut up a map into small pieces and told her to try to put it back together again. He thought that would take her a long time, long enough for him to finish the newspaper. He was surprised to find that she put the map together very quickly. He was so impressed that he asked her how she did it. He knew she knew nothing about geography. She turned the map over and on the other side was a picture of Jesus. She had put the picture of Jesus together and then turned it over to the map. In her innocence she uttered a precious truth. She said, “Daddy, if you put Jesus in the right place, the whole world is all right!” How true this is in our lives. We should exalt Jesus to a place of Lord in our lives.

LETTER FROM THE ISF DIRECTORS
Dear International Friend,
Greetings to you from International Student Fellowship! This is such a wonderful time of the year in Pittsburgh. Trees and flowers are in bloom and our neighborhoods are alive with people out and walking and children enjoying the weather. When our grandsons came to visit us we took some hikes in Frick Park. We hope that if you are in this area that you take some time to enjoy the beauty of both Frick and Schenley Park. To find out some history and information about them you can visit this website.

We always sense a feeling of hope and faith in the springtime. We look forward to a reprieve of cold weather for the next several months. This is a time to plan a trip or graduation party or maybe even attend a wedding which are popular events in the summer. Although these are exciting things to look forward to, there are always circumstances that seem to bring a cloud into our lives. Recently, we have had friends of ours share some news about their families that have caused us to stop and re-evaluate what is really important in life. When sickness, loss of employment or hardship comes to those we love and care about it is an eye-opener. We cannot face the challenges of life in our own strength. When we trust in God, He will become our strength in difficult times. We pray you have found this to be true. God wants to be your strength.
We enjoyed seeing everyone who came to the last gathering. If you are in this area please join us for the next gathering in May. If you are far from the Pittsburgh area, we wish you could be with us and continue to remember you in our thoughts.
--Terry & Pam Tiberio, ISF Directors

GOD’S KNOWLEDGE
Though you are one of the teeming millions in this world, and though the world would have you believe that you do not count and that you are but a speck in the mass, God says, “I know you.”
